Though, if you ask her nicely enough she'll take on most jobs to help out!Likes: Food! It's her favorite thing, and she'll honestly accept alot of payment in the form of food or meals. Plants, obviously, also bring her a sense of joy. Plants don't say hurtful things, and will listen.

Kiyo was born to a Xaela mother and Raen father. Her parents met when her mother, Mide, left in search of someone who could give her a better fight than those she's fought and defeated already amongst her clan and those that neighbor them.A fight she found, and with that fight came defeat and an unexpected pregnancy.Mide never properly explained to her daughter what had happened. Only looked into the distance with a pleased expression and stating that Kiyo was born between two strong fighters, and thus, she would be like them.Strong.That was not the case.Kiyo was born in the bright noon sun, scales and hair colored like her Raen father. Bright, petal pink hair, and even pinker eyes, with pearly scales that glittered in the morning light.Kiyo was a soft child, easily crying and fussy enough that it drove Mide off a wall. The Xaela was not meant to stand around and fuss over a child, and more often than not, Kiyo would end up dropped off with another mother and her brood while she watched her own mother stalk away to join in a hunt or fight.It was a common sight to her growing up, especially as it became evident that Kiyo was not like Mide or her father Kotaro.Fighting did not come to her. Mide would try, and try, over and over, attempting to teach Kiyo how to hunt, how to wrestle, how to fight and bring pride to her and their clan.Every time Kiyo failed. Too clumsy, too weak. She was everything her mother hated, and more and more, the lessons would end with Mide standing above her daughter. Rage in her face as she stared at the weak child she gave birth to.The others in the clan noticed and picked up on the fact that Kiyo was not like them. Small and weak, interested in plants and medicines. A shame to Mide, they'd whisper. Such a strong warrior, only to have a child so weak anyone half her age could beat her in a fight.Kiyo did not grow up amongst a loving clan. Cruel whispers, and a distant, enraged mother.It would've destroyed her confidence if not for the single light in her a life.Kiyo had only one friend amongst the clan, a strong Xaela she affectionately nicknamed Dodo, named after the creature they found in one of the elders books.Dodo was the first of many things for Kiyo, friend, lover. She was the one Kiyo confessed to when she wanted to leave the Steppes, to find somewhere where she was wanted. Where she could thrive instead of being hated for simple existing as she is.Dodo was the one who brought her maps, and helped plan the safest route out of the Steppes for Kiyo.With the help of her friend, her lover, and confidant, Kiyo ran away from her clan, ready to discover who she could really be. To discover her own destiny in the world.It was a hard lesson for Kiyo, learning how things functioned outside of the Steppes. Everything was so different that it scared her. A single Au'ra, alone in the world, no one but herself to rely on.
Kiyo spent many nights cold and hungry as grew and adapted, and most of all, started to thrive in a way her clan wouldn't allowShe picked up side jobs and would run around doing odd jobs. She collected gil and trinkets as she traveled and learned. She would join in caravans and ships, working to pay for passage and meals when her gil ran out.
Books became a passion for her. Such little things could hold so much information.. It amazed her how many books could simply exist.Kiyo grew and thrived, like a plant that was cared for tenderly. She learned and educated herself, gaining mastery in the ways of Botany and spending hours, even now, studying and learning about plants and their different properties.Sometimes her studies lead her to tricky situations, as with curiosity, Kiyo tends to let her excitement get ahold of herself and instead of properly testing the plants or tinctures, she would simply consume them herself.It's lead to many interesting misadventures and scrambles to reverse strange effects.Through it all, one thing has never changed for her.Kiyo does not fight.And on the days where her studies bring her to dangerous areas.. well. Kiyo thanks the Twelve that the Adventure's Guild exists.
